My residency at AIR Studios influenced the painting of Techno Geyser by providing a color palette of rich earth tones. Five uninterrupted days of focused creativity allowed quiet moments to soak up the beauty of vivid blue skies, red dirt, and the arid environment that make up much of northern New Mexico’s scenery. My work combines the organic randomness of nature with the manufactured perfection of technology which is integral in our everyday lives. It is through technology that we are able to communicate regularly, digitally capture the world around us, and connect on a global scale.
