Field Trips

Our field trips are a wonderful opportunity to explore some of the incredible places Santa Fe has to offer, from Museum Hill to the Railyard Arts District and Canyon Road, and sampling the wide range of dining and shopping and just soaking in that Santa Fe vibe.

For each residency and retreat week, we have at least two optional field trips. Because we only have small groups, we’re able to be flexible with the group’s desires. We’ll drive everyone in the gallery van to various locations in Santa Fe, drop them off, let everyone explore with maps and a suggested itinerary of our favorites in a guidebook, and then pick everyone up at a set time and place.

For many retreats, we purchase tickets and provide transport to special events like the Folk Art Market, Indian Market, or Wine & Chili Fiesta. See retreat listing for details.

In addition, we provide listings of our favorites for each area, with recommendations for food, dining, galleries and shopping… to eliminate the guess work and share our favorites with you.

Some of the places we’ll take you for self-guided tours:

  • Canyon Road

  • Railyard Arts District

  • SITE Santa Fe

  • The Plaza

  • Museum Hill

  • Meow Wolf

  • Ghost Ranch

  • Georgia O’Keefe’s House and Studio

  • Lamy & Galisteo

  • Madrid

  • Margarita Trail

  • Folk Art Market (July)

  • Wine & Chili Fiesta (September)

These trips are optional and are included for no additional fees.

We serve breakfast only on field trip days so you can try some of Santa Fe’s incredible dining.

Field trip destinations are listed on each week’s residency, workshop or retreat listing, and usually happen on Wednesdays and Thursdays, giving you plenty of time to work in your studio and still get a taste of Santa Fe.
