WILD: A Benefit Exhibition for America’s Wild Places

On view: August 16-September 28, 2025

Jen Tough Gallery is thrilled to announce WILD, our second benefit exhibition, dedicated to celebrating—and protecting—the wild spaces of America. All gallery proceeds will be donated to The Sierra Club, a leading organization devoted to safeguarding the natural world at a time when America’s public lands and wild spaces face unprecedented threats.

After last summer’s successful benefit for Save the Chimps—which raised awareness about the chimps formerly held at Alamogordo Air Force Base, all of whom are now safely in sanctuary—we are proud to continue our mission of uniting art and advocacy.

Unlike traditional benefit exhibitions, WILD is designed to support both artists and the cause: participating artists will receive their full 50% commission, reinforcing our belief that creators shouldn’t be asked to sacrifice their livelihood to make a difference. By doing so, we strengthen not only our commitment to critical environmental issues, but also our dedication to supporting the thriving creative community here in Santa Fe.

Featuring 46 artists from across the nation, including many local artists, WILD showcases a stunning array of works celebrating nature’s splendor—lush landscapes, vivid wildlife, and captivating interpretations of the earth’s raw beauty—brought to life through diverse media and styles.

Join us as we honor the wild and contribute to its preservation through the transformative power of art

2026 & 2027 Artist Residencies

Our 2025 residencies are now fully reserved.

At Jen Tough Gallery, we believe artists deserve more than just a place to work—they deserve a space where their voice is seen, supported, and celebrated.

Our program is intentionally selective and intimate. With only 3–6 artists in residence each week, we create an environment where every individual is known, supported, and given genuine visibility. This scale fosters deeper connections and ensures that no one is ever “lost in the crowd.” Every artist is selected through our application process, making residencies both inspiring and supportive.

The experience doesn’t end when your residency does. Every artist who completes our program is included in one of our Resident Artist Exhibitions the following year—extending visibility and providing a professional platform for your work long after your time with us.

Our accommodations and studios were created with care to be both beautiful and functional. Surrounded by Santa Fe’s world-renowned light and creative spirit, artists find the freedom to focus deeply while enjoying the support of a nurturing environment. This space is about intention: space, time, and connection to fuel your practice at the highest level.

At its heart, Jen Tough Gallery remains a small, family-run space, fueled by passion and commitment to artists. Every detail reflects that care, and every artist who joins us becomes part of our extended family.

Rebecca Katz: Chasing the Light in Santa Fe

One Artist’s Residency Experience

“…the light doesn’t dance on water; it bounces off mountains and the desert floor, creating an entirely different connection to the land.”

Sharon Brush, Reception

I have always been drawn to objects whose history is written upon their surface: The river rock worn smooth from centuries of tumult; the bleached, chewed bone found on the desert floor; the bare-bones landscape of the American southwest. These things speak to me of timelessness and mystery and rouse a thousand questions that will never find an answer. It is all that I don’t know, that deepens my viewing experience. The influence of such objects and landscapes seep into every piece I make.
